The Law Group at Aramco Overseas is a tight knit group that prides itself on team work to complete its tasks in a timely matter. The Law Group handles a large amount of transactional work both related to purchasing of materials and equipment as well as contracting for different services from consultancy firms, technology providers and other general services contracts. The goal of the position is to identify risks and develop and provide relevant solution, render legal advice to client organizations to ensure compliance and that legal risks are managed in line with AOC and SAO relevant standards, policies, and guidelines.

Jobdescription Procurement and Contracts Counsel Aramco Overseas

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Develop solutions for legal issues and prepare legal opinions and advice;
• Work with clients to understand their requirements and recommend solutions that enable clients to reach their business goals while complying with the Law;
• Assist the Chief Counsel in examining the law and facts pertinent to legal problems;
• Communicate with SAO organizations and internal AOC customers;
• Provide legal support to AOC, AOC foreign offices, and affiliated companies;
• Review and advise AOC Chief Counsel and AOC operating organizations of current legislation and make recommendations regarding compliance with law, regulations and other pertinent regulations within AOC’s areas of operations;
• Review and advise AOC Chief Counsel and AOC operating organizations of legal documents, opinions, corporate policies and procedures, corporate rights and obligations, claims and litigation, contracts and agreements, and statutory or similar requirement;
• Collect relevant evidence and information, recommend solutions and coordinate communication with all parties involved;
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and exercise sound judgment;
• With the knowledge of Chief Counsel can be first line of contact for enquiries and matters brought to the Chief Counsel;
• Cover for the Chief Counsel in his/her absence and manage the affairs of the Department;
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Chief Counsel.

Qualifications Procurement and Contracts Counsel Aramco Overseas

• Law degree from a well reputed university, preferably in US, UK or Dutch;
• Currently licensed, admitted to practice and member of a BAR association, this is a MUST (preferably US, UK or Dutch);
• 10-15 years of relevant international experience with a strong law firm, large corporation or other sophisticated business organization with a focus in procurement and contracting field of work evidenced by demonstrated participation in projects;
• Strong knowledge of structuring transactional documents;
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills and ability to provide concise, clear, support to internal clients;
• Excellent English skills, both written and verbally. Proficiency in another language in which AOC conducts significant operations is a plus.
